Tim Strawson

Founder

Tim is a UK-based industrialist and entrepreneur, with a strong affinity for Cape Verde. He and his family have held interests there for several years and have grown to love the country, its flora and fauna and above all its people. Tim is committed to ensuring that the success of Tarafo Bay benefits first and foremost the local population.

Sales Director

Radek is an experienced professional who spent the first 20 years of his career in multi-national corporations in senior sales and general management positions. In the last 12 years, he has been involved in the creation of hotel and golf projects, including Oaks PGA National Prague, Czech Republic.

Development Director

Rob began his career as a UK-registered Architect, designing golf and conference hotels. Subsequently for over 30 years Rob has led the development of many successful and award-winning resorts, communities and leisure projects globally on every continent, acting on behalf of private equity investors and major corporations such as the Walt Disney Company.

Design Director

Jon is an experienced resort masterplanner specialising in international golf resorts for the past two decades. As the Managing Director of International Design Group, Jon has been responsible for the design and development of golf resorts across 4 continents. Throughout his history in the industry, Jon has been involved in all aspects of resort development from feasibility studies and funding rounds, through concept and detailed design and into construction and operations.

After graduating as a mechanical engineer, Duncan’s executive career has seen him lead multiple industrial companies across Europe and the Americas. This culminated in leading Grundfos, a world leader in pump and pump systems, in the Americas as President and Chief Executive Officer. Since 2016 Duncan has been a plural Chairman for multiple family owned and Private Equity backed businesses. Working with outstanding leadership teams he has helped to deliver numerous successful outcomes for stakeholders, with a strong emphasis on social responsibility.

Victor Fidalgo

Local Representative

Victor advises Tarafo Bay on all dealings with government and licensing, both nationally and on the island of Boa Vista. During his distinguished career, he has held a number of government and diplomatic posts in Cape Verde and internationally, including President of CI, the Government agency for foreign investment and tourism promotion; Adviser to the Finance Minister and Alternate Governor to African Bank and to World Bank and Ambassador of Cape Verde to Senegal, Angola and Germany.

Chair, Boa Vista Trust

Christine started her career as a qualified accountant with leadership roles as an executive and board member in the private and public sector in the UK. Leading in a number of consumer, health and B2B organisations across PLC, SME and family-owned legal entities, Christine has held non-executive roles since 2014 and is passionate about working with leaders delivering good outcomes through colleagues, customer and societal impact, supported by strong governance.
