Tarafo Bay is pleased to announce the successful purchase of the first phase of land for its highly anticipated development in Boa Vista, Cape Verde. This acquisition marks a major milestone in bringing forward a new, thoughtfully designed destination that will blend world-class amenities with sustainability and the island’s natural beauty and vibrant culture.
Tarafo Bay has worked closely with the Cabo Verde Government’s development agency, The Sociedade de Desenvolvimento Turístico de Ilhas da Boa Vista e Maio (SDTIBM), to ready the site for this major development. This collaboration ensures the project moves forward in alignment with the island’s long-term vision for sustainable growth and prosperity.
Phase one of the project will bring investment, jobs, and long-term opportunities to the local community, while positioning Boa Vista as a premier destination for sustainable tourism and lifestyle living. Plans include luxury residential offerings, leisure facilities, an 18-hole championship golf course, and carefully curated experiences that respect and celebrate the island’s unique character.
Tim Strawson, Founder of Tarafo Bay, said “We are incredibly proud to take this important step in Boa Vista. The purchase of this land represents not only the foundation of our vision, but also our commitment to working hand in hand with the local community through the Boa Vista Trust. Together, we aim to create good employment, improve housing and infrastructure, and strengthen education, training, and medical support, while partnering with government to shape something truly special. Our goal is to deliver a development that celebrates the island’s natural charm, creates meaningful opportunities, and leaves a lasting positive legacy for generations to come.”
Further details about the development will be unveiled in the coming months as Tarafo Bay works closely with its partners, stakeholders, and the local community to bring the project to life.
