Tarafo Bay is beginning to take visual shape, and one of the most exciting early glimpses comes in the form of newly revealed beach bar CGI concepts. These first-look renderings offer a preview of what could become the social heart of the bay; a place where design, atmosphere, and coastal lifestyle come together seamlessly.

A “Sense of Place”

A defining principle behind the beach bar designs at Tarafo Bay Resort is the deliberate cultivation of a “Sense of Place”; an architectural philosophy that grounds each structure firmly within its coastal setting rather than imposing a generic resort aesthetic. Jon Hunt, Design Director for Tarafo Bay explains. “Every bar is conceived as an extension of the landscape itself, drawing inspiration from the textures, colours, and rhythms of the surrounding shoreline, vegetation, and horizon.”

To achieve this, the designs lean heavily on locally sourced, natural materials: weathered timbers, woven palm thatch, and rattan, all chosen for their tactile warmth and their ability to age gracefully under sun, salt, and sea air. Wherever possible, materials are gathered from the immediate region, reducing the project’s environmental footprint while reinforcing a genuine connection to the locale.

“The result is that unmistakable “feet in the sand” experience every traveller hopes for from a great beach bar” says Jon. “A space that feels effortlessly authentic, quietly luxurious, and inseparable from the place in which it stands.”

Lighting will play an important role in the concept. The CGI imagery hints at a transition from bright, sun-drenched afternoons to warm, ambient evenings. Subtle integrated lighting, combined with natural elements like lanterns, create a setting that evolves with the rhythm of the day.

Beyond aesthetics, the designs also suggest a thoughtful approach to experience. There’s a clear intention to balance comfort with style; plush seating, shaded areas, and practical layouts that cater to long, relaxed stays by the sea. The overall impression is not just of a bar, but of a destination within Tarafo Bay.

Wellness by the Ocean

A beach wellness centre is designed as a serene sanctuary where wellbeing and coastal living come together in harmony. Positioned just steps from the shoreline, it will combine natural materials, soft architectural lines, and open-air spaces to create a calming environment that feels deeply connected to the ocean.

The centre will focus on holistic restoration, offering a range of experiences from yoga and meditation spaces to spa treatments, recovery therapies, and mindful movement sessions. Light-filled relaxation areas and shaded quiet zones will encourage guests to slow down and fully unwind, while the sound of the ocean will reinforce a sense of natural balance. More than just a facility, the beach wellness centre will become a retreat within the destination, supporting physical renewal, mental clarity, and a slower, more intentional way of living by the water.

A glimpse into the future of Tarafo Bay

While these CGI concepts are still an early step in the development journey, they provide a compelling vision of what’s to come. As plans continue to evolve, the beach areas are set to become a defining feature of Tarafo Bay, capturing the essence of coastal living with a modern, sustainable and design-led edge.
